Description
Kalmi Shak is a semi-aquatic tropical plant cultivated as a vegetable for its tender shoots and leaves. It is found in all tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Its stems are 23 meters or more long, rooted in the nodes, and are hollow and can float. This vegetable is a common ingredient in Southeast Asian dishes. Per 100 gm, Kalmi Saak provides 3.14 gm carbohydrates, 2.1 gm dietary fiber, 0.2 gm fat, 2.6 gm protein, and a good source of Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, C, minerals, and calcium.
