Description
Tej Pata bay leaf, commonly known as in India, is a sweet-smelling leaf of the evergreen bay tree, native to the Mediterranean. It is most widely used for cooking and preparing perfumes. The Indian bay leaf is essentially a three-veined leaf that is elliptical, smooth, pointed, and tough. These leaves are spicy and contain a strong, bitter taste. Its flavor and fragrance are somewhat similar to cinnamon bark but slightly softer. They are used in fresh, dry or powder form. The oil was extracted from the bay leaves; called laurel oil it includes medicinal properties and is used to treat various ailments. Diabetes treatment, good for digestion, cardiovascular benefits, treatment of cold and infection, anticancer, beneficial during the period of preconceptions treatment of menstrual problems.
